Committed to R&D, Xytel is in the business of adding value to our clients for the full life cycle of this project, from first of a kind technology development through commissioning. This takes the project through its stages:

First-of-a-Kind Technology Development - This is a value-added service provided to our clients to develop thermodynamic properties, provide process simulation and optimization, and to assist in the scale up from lab to a full commercial facility. Most of these activities will involve our alliance partners.

Conceptual Engineering - The ultimate goal of this phase is to develop a + 25 to + 50% budgetary estimate so the project can be approved for the next phase by management. Minimum engineering deliverables required during this phase are the design basis and criteria, process flow diagrams, equipment list with process information, heat and material balance, and equipment layout.

Front End / Basic Engineering - The ultimate goal of this phase is to develop a lump-sum or + 10% estimate for the completion of the project. Minimum engineering deliverables required during this phase are detailed Piping and Instrumentation Drawings (P&IDs), equipment design and data sheets, control philosophy and instrument index (with BOM), utility/environmental summary, detailed equipment layout, scope for other disciplines as required, and process hazard analysis (PHA).

Detailed Engineering, Procurement & Construction - The ultimate goal of this phase is to complete the design to allow procurement of components and construction of the project. Issued for construction documents from all disciplines are required in this phase.

Testing / Training at Xytel - It is very beneficial for your engineers and operators to be at Xytel's fabrication facility for the Factory Acceptance Testing and Training. We can familiarize them with the equipment, construction, documentation and control system. We'll also cover how the unit will be disassembled and offer guidelines for putting it back together. This can make installation and start-up of the unit much smoother. Upon your acceptance, we disassemble the unit and crate it for shipment to your site.

Installation at Your Site - Once the crates are unpacked and the skids set-up in place, Xytel's use of modularity makes re-assembly straightforward. Tagging all the disconnected process, electrical, and instrument lines for easy reconnection is standard practice. You can be assured that Xytel is available to assist you every step of the way.

Start-up and Commissioning - Usually, the best time for Xytel's presence is during the initial checkout and start-up of the system. Xytel can supervise and assist in the testing and optimization as required. We can use our considerable experience in the start-up of pilot plants to make the start-up of yours as efficient as possible. Once you are ready to commission, we stand ready to help any way we can.
