A Polypropylene Pilot Plant (25 kg/hr) was shipped in August 2000 to an Asian client. The unit will be commissioned and operational before the end of 2000. A challenging layout was required in this system which went into an existing multi-story building with skids located on three floors.

Advance Catalyst Evaluation Units - ACE™
Six new ACE™ micro reactors were built for FCC catalyst evaluation this year. Two ACE R+ units with Kayser Technology's new reactor design were shipped in late 1999, one to Petrobras, Brazil, and the second to Akzo's Pasadena, Texas facility. Three ACE R+ units with new reactor designs were built in the second half of 2000. The unit for CCIC in Japan was commissioned in late August. Units for Research Institute of Petroleum Processing (RIPP) in China and Bharat Petroleum have been built and will be commissioned before the end of 2000.

The first ACE model P unit was commissioned at Formosa Petrochemical during the first quarter of 2000. The P model is designed to provide a cost effective FCC catalyst evaluation alternative to the ACE model R for production support laboratories where high sample throughput is not required. Xytel is proud to have contributed to Conoco's gas to liquids research program over the last two years. Conoco detailed the program in the July 31, 2000 Oil and Gas Journal 'Conoco says economies of scale key to GTL viability'. This was one of three customer Synfuel programs in petrochemicals and Fischer Tropsch applications for which Xytel designed and built over a dozen systems. Additional oxidation work included two proprietary microreactors for petrochemical selective oxidation were shipped in June 2000, while a larger petrochemical selective oxidation unit was shipped in 1999.

Xytel was recently selected to build a bench scale unit for semiconductor research using a chlorosilane feedstock. The unit will be shipped in 2001.

A four Reactor Hydroprocessing unitXytel built and shipped a reactive distillation unit in 1999.

Four proprietary fluid catalyst attrition units were ordered for delivery in December 2000. Five new catalyst evaluation units were recently ordered. A fixed bed ARC catalyst evaluation unit was recently ordered for November 2000 shipment to LG-Caltex in Korea.
